Steel Fabrication Safety

At Ramsay Machine Works safety is our number one priority and the most important focus in our manufacturing operations in the Plant, Assembly Area and Barge Loading Bay. Safety is an important issue in steel manufacturing and at present the company is on track with its Safety Systems to achieve the desired CORE Certification.

At The Ramsay Group we believe that safety begins with the people. Our motto is “If it’s Not Safe Don’t Do It!”. Our “Joint Safety Committee” which monitors the safety issues, and overall safety performance within the company and is made up of both Management and Plant production personnel providing a complete overview of the entire company. This group is dedicated to insuring that the safest work environment possible is being provided for all employees, so they may be able to apply their trade skills in a safe and secure environment to minimize occupational health, safety and environment risks. Our Safety Manual is available on request.

ALL VISITORS TO THE RAMSAY GROUP MUST ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING SAFETY RULES:

At Ramsay safety is our number one priority, we have a limited supply of the following safety gear. Please ensure that you call ahead to ensure that every visitor has the safety gear required. If its not safe, don’t do it!

Hi-Viz Vests

Safety vests must be worn by all visitors when on foot anywhere within the Plant and Yard. This excludes walking to and from the visitors parking bays to the main office and within the office area itself..

Steel Toe Work Boots

Work boots or steel toe foot protectors must be worn by any worker or visitor standing or working within the Plant and Yard area. Work boots or protectors are not required when walking to or from the visitors parking bays to the main office and within the office area itself.

Protective Eye Wear

Protective eye wear must be worn by any worker or visitor standing or working within the Plant and Yard area. Protective eye wear must be worn over prescription glasses. Protective eye wear is not required when walking to or from the visitors parking bays to the main office and within the office area itself.

Smoking Policy

Smoking is not allowed on the premises, except in the clearly marked designated smoking area.
